Medicolegal

I have been writing medicolegal reports in the fields of respiratory and general medicine since 2006. The work is either: medical negligence; personal injury; or asbestos litigation. My instructions come from a mix of plaintiff and defendant but predominantly the former. Requests often come following a recommendation from AVMA.

I write 30-40 reports per annum, which are a mix of: causation; condition & prognosis; life expectancy; joint statements; and comments on other experts’ reports. I am experienced in giving evidence in Court and meeting/conferencing with Counsel. I am Single Joint Expert trained.

Turnaround time for reports is 4-6 weeks following receipt of all relevant medical records. I can receive records in any format with the preferred format being downloading from a secure online repository e.g. MedBrief.

If client needs to be seen then I can see them rapidly, usually the same or following week. Clients can be seen either face-to-face or via secure video (Zoom).

I have extensive training in the writing of medicolegal reports and giving evidence. I completed the Cardiff University/Bond Solon (CUBS) Expert Witness Training Program in 2009 and keep up to date with medicolegal CPD, having attended further training at BPP Law School (London), Bond Solon and AVMA. I am frequently invited by AVMA to deliver in-house teaching sessions to lawyers and additionally at the annual AVMA Clinical Negligence Conference.

I am very happy to have a brief pre-instruction discussion of a potential case on a pro bono basis, with the proviso that my opinion may change once I have reviewed the entire medical record following a formal instruction.
